Ambition 6 - Community Collaboration
Linking with community partners is a key element of an outstanding offer and can bring specialist input into the school, provide extension activity/exit routes for pupils as well as position the school positively within the local community.
School Sport Partnerships
Developing your PE and School Sport offer together with a local cluster of primary schools around a secondary school can have many advantages. Where schools and their leaders are keen to learn together, build capacity and develop expertise, the PE and Sport Premium will create opportunities to pool resources and spread costs for;
- professional developmentand coaching for teachers qualifications
- supply cover,
- quality assured external providers to support teacher development,
- competition entries
- after schools sports clubs.
In many cases the area school sport partnerships will provide an extended offer of specialist support to both secondary and primary schools in their defined geographical location.
Community Club Partnerships
Schools with well developed community collaboration will have established links with a range of community sports clubs who may provide opportunities for pupils outside of school, make use of school facilities and provide coaches/leadersfor both curricular and extra-curricular activity.
