Ambition 4 - Competition


Competition is an important aspect of any holistic offer and schools are encouraged to develop this aspect alongside improvements in physical literacy progressing from personal challenges and festivals to themed intra (level 1) and inter-school games (level 2).

Sainsbury's School Gamesis a UK wide initiative made up of three levels of local activity covering competition 1) in schools, 2) between schools and 3) at county level with an annual national event for the most talented young people in the country. REGISTER YOUR SCHOOL

In Cornwall local competition delivery throughout the year is supported by four School Games Organisers covering the Arena, Mid, Peninsula and Penwith school sport partnership areas. Numerous level 2 events are organised at various times in the year across a range of sports using recognised age appropriate formats and with a view to schools progressing to the level 3 county event.

Cornwall School Games is an annual multi-sport event for both Primary and Secondary schools delivered predominantly over a single week in June and hosted by a nominated area. This year's event is in the St Austell area and features fifteen different competitions for Primary schools.
