Devon and Cornwall Golf Development Conference - Wednesday 29th January 2014 - Boringdon Park Golf Club
The 2013 Devon and Cornwall Golf Development Conference was a great success with 90 delegates in attendance.
The 2014 promises to be even better and brings together 9 speakers with many years experience in the golf development.
We have the Development Manager for England Golf Richard Flint coming down to talk about an overview of the England Golf Partnership, Andy Mellor, Secretary/Manager of St Austell Golf Club, talking about how Golf Mark has increased revenue at St Austell Golf Club and England Golf's SW Development Officer Jamie Woodford talking about the new Golf Mark process.
We have three presenters coming down from up country including Alan Walker, Owner and Director of Garon Park Golf Complex in Essex. Garon Park won the England Golf Mark Club of the Year for 2013. Garon Park was in administration in May 2010 before being bought by Mr Walker and a couple of business partners. In 2010 they had 5 juniors members and now they have 115 junior members and in 2013 over 50 adults beginners new to the game joining as members. 
Ian Baker, General Manager of Bramshaw Golf Club in Hampshire, the 2012 England Golf Mark Club of the Year winners will be presenting on their successes in turning free adult coaching into members and Ali James, Golf Manager at Cumberwell Park in Wiltshire will be talking about their flexible membership options at Cumberwell Park Golf Club.
We also have the Dorset Golf Development Officer Dee Wood talking about their successes with the Dorset Ladies Golf Tour, the Golf Foundation SW Development presenting what the Golf Foundation can offer clubs and England Golf's Communication Officer Lyndsey Hewison speaking about how to promote your golf club in the local press.
The cost is £10 per person and includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. PGA Professionals receives 15 CPD points for attending the Conference. There is no limit in the number of delegates from each club.
