Meet Jed Tinney who is a 19 year old male who attends Truro and Penwith College.
Jed attended the 'College Festival of Sport' delivered as part of the LD Active programme which resulted in Jed becoming involved in SO Cornwall and becoming a member of the basketball team playing once a week.
Jed attended the National Summer Games in 2017 in Sheffield representing the South West at basketball.
Jed also likes to play football and plays for Chacewater ability counts and will be going to Newton Abbott this August to play in a tournament representing Cornwall.
Jed's dad is a local farmer from Truro and said this about the SO programme: "It's a great thing, it has given him a chance to compete, make new friends and become happier and more confident. He looks forward to every session."
Social impact - Jed has become more independent since he joined SO through the LD Active Kernow programme, he is now able to get from one place to another without too much help. Jed's communication has improved and he now has something he looks forward to and is interested in. Jed studies games of NBA Basketball, which he enjoys doing with his friends.
