St Monica Trust are looking to recruit a Programme Manager Older Peoples Sports and Physical Activity to manage the successful delivery of a programme of sports and physical activities for older people in Greater Bristol. This role will be day to day managed by St Monica Trust whilst being accountable to the Governance Board for Sports and Activity for Older People Programme. Please see the special conditions towards the end of the role profile.
Working with local delivery partners, local and national sports bodies and other organisations that can provide support and access to facilities you will manage the delivery of the programme and to report progress to the Programme's Governance Board. Through collaboration with a variety of different organisations you will ensure the effective engagement and promotion of sports and physical activities in local communities. You will also be required to work with sports bodies and other organisations to devise quality standards, codes of practice, policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and standardised approach to organisation and participation.
What St Monica Trust are looking for:
Significant experience in organising and coordinating the delivery of sports or physical activity programmes or large projects is essential as is a sound working knowledge of collaboration, consulting and engaging with local communities. Strategic partnership working alongside experience of working with older people would be advantageous.
This standalone role will suit a pro-active, practical and approachable person with good target focus, prioritising and problem solving skills. Due to the nature of the working environment, it is essential to have good communication skills, additionally the successful candidate will have an understanding of IT systems including experience of using Outlook, Word & Excel.
That is why you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience of the care industry and ideally worked in a similar role or environment before.
